Buying Flowers Online: Common Questions Answered

Our Flowers

How are the Flowers Packaged?

We package all our flowers differently.  If you opt for a hand-tied bouquet in water, we will spiral the stems and place the bouquet in a bubble of water called an ‘aqua pack’.  This is then placed in a gift bag to match the colour scheme which is then decorated with a bow.

For flat designs the stems are laid down flat in cellophane.  We make sure the cellophane comes over the front of the design to ensure they are protected.

Other designs like hat boxes, baskets and plants don’t need much packaging but if we feel the design needs some extra care, we will wrap it in cellophane which the recipient will need to remove.

Can I Design my Own Bouquet for Delivery?

Yes, of course!  If you don’t see something that takes your fancy online just give us a call and let us know what you would like.  If you are looking for something very specific that we don’t usually stock, you may need to give us a few days’ notice so that we can order the flowers in from Holland.

Do you Send out Flowers in Bud or Full Bloom?

We have deliveries on almost a daily basis to ensure only the freshest flowers make it into your order.  We will send most flowers out budded, or showing slightly.

Ordering & Paying

How Late can I Order?

You can order through our Buy Online system until 1pm for same day delivery.  However, if you give us a call on 01245 264 566, we may be able to accommodate a same day delivery after this time.

Can I order by phone?

We are open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays) and are happy to take any orders over the phone.

How do I Amend an Order?

If you would like to amend your order the fastest way would be to call us on 01245 264 566.  Alternatively, you can drop us an email.

Can I Send a Gift with my Flowers?

Yes, we have a range of giftware that can be sent with your flowers.  We also stock chocolates and can make personalised balloons which you can write your own message on in glittery writing.  Just give us a call at the shop on 01245 264 566 to discuss your requirements.

Can I Send my Order Anonymously?

We would never volunteer any personal information without your consent.  Unless you include your name in your message via the order form, we will not include your name with the order.

If a recipient rings to ask who the flowers are from, we would first call the customer to ask if we are able to tell them.

Can I Include a Personal Message with my Flowers?

Yes, you can include a message (up to 100 words) with your order – simply complete the ‘Your Message’ field on the online order form.

Flower Delivery

Who Delivers your Flowers?

– Local Deliveries: Our friendly drivers will hand-deliver local orders in our own van. We have a few drivers, Liz, Anne, Gaynor and Ken who will always greet you with a smile 🙂

Our van is out 6 days a week (with an extra special delivery on Mothering Sunday) across Chelmsford, including Beaulieu Park, Springfield, Great Notley Garden Village and Chelmer Village to name a few. We cover the following postcodes locally for just £8: CM1, CM2, CM3, CM4, CM14, CM5, CM6, CM7, CM77, CM8, CM12, CM13.

– The Rest of the UK: If you are further afield, fear not as we can arrange for delivery via the E-Florist System across the whole of the UK at no extra charge.  These flowers will be received and hand-delivered florist local to the recipient.

– International Delivery: Please call 01245 264 566 for an international delivery quote. Delivery will be arranged via the E-Florist System.  Once they arrive in the destination country, these flowers will be shipped to a local florist who will hand-deliver the flowers to your recipient.

Can I Specify a Time of Day for Delivery?

You can specify an AM or PM delivery.  For local deliveries, if there is a specific time that you want, we will try our best to deliver within those hours, but unfortunately cannot guarantee an exact timeframe.

To specify AM or PM delivery when ordering online, simply let us know via the ‘Notes’ field on the online order form.

Why Can’t you Deliver to Hospitals?

Unfortunately, most hospitals do not accept flowers for patients. They do however allow flower deliveries for staff members and some private hospitals will accept flowers.

What Happens if No One is Home when the Flowers are Delivered?

If no one is home when we try to deliver your flowers, we will first try with a neighbour.  If you have notified us of somewhere safe to leave the flowers (via the ‘Notes’ field on the online order form), we will leave them there.

What if the Order Arrives Wrong or Damaged?

On the rare occasion your order arrives wrong or damaged, please contact us on 01245 264 566 and we will happily rectify the situation.

Why Don’t the Flowers Look like the Photo?

We make all our arrangements to order using fresh flowers from Holland.  We send many flowers out in bud or just opening so that the recipient can enjoy watching them bloom.

While we endeavour to replicate the photo on our website as closely as possible, we may have to replace some flowers due to seasonal changes.  We will, of course, include similar colours and flowers to keep the same style and shape.   Being a natural product, there can be colour variations.
